Although we live in a very safe society, it is always sensible to prepare for the unexpected. All local authorities, including Knowsley Council, have a substantial role to play in responding to major disruptive incidents and dealing with their aftermath. The service liaises with other responding agencies and partners to ensure that plans are in place to assist in the response, recovery and return to normality for the community and environment of Knowsley.

The service also provides advice and guidance on business continuity management to businesses and voluntary agencies across the Borough.

We have a 24 hour emergency duty officer system in place to ensure an urgent response is given to major incidents.
