Patients Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) - Primary Care

PALS are here to help when you need advice, have concerns, or don't know where to turn.

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) provide confidential on-the-spot advice,
assistance and support to all patients.

The service aims to:
- Advise and support patients, their families and carers.
- Provide information on NHS services.
- Listen to your concerns, suggestions or enquires
- Help sort problems quickly on your behalf.

PALS act independently when handling patient and family concerns, liaising with staff, managers and where appropriate, relevant organisations, to negotiate immediate or prompt solutions. If necessary we can also refer patients and families to specific local or national based support agencies.

Eligibility Criteria (Who is this service for?)
Everyone in the Wigan Borough, who has a concern regarding the NHS.

How can you access this service?
Self Referral
For concerns with GPs, Dentists, Opticians and Pharmacists you can contact PALS by telephone on 01942 482956 / 482869 / 482730 the majority of the concerns are dealt with in this way.

Availability

9am to 4pm Monday - Friday (Answerphone is available outside opening hours)
